This was for a birthday party that had a magician:

This cake has over 80 fondant Legos on it. It was heavy!

Witchingly Bootiful!

For a Halloween birthday. She was torn between getting the witch cake she wanted and having a beautiful (traditional) cake. I found this stained glass pattern and kept the colours traditional but made them softer. I carved this out of two sheet cakes: the top half is white cake, and the bottom half is chocolate.

Bakugan and Ben 10

We had a triple birthday for my nephew and sons this year:

Joshua wanted a pretty simple cake:

This Little Piggy Turned 9

This cake was for a 9 year-old's birthday. He's covered in fondant with gum paste ears. The mud is buttercream frosting. A big thank you to my husband for the design idea and the carving.

Butterflies and Ivy

Once again my camera is acting up and giving everything a yellow tinge.

This cake was for a first birthday party. I love the non-traditional choices of this client. The cake is buttercream with royal icing morning glories and butterflies. I hand painted the butterflies.

Carnations

This cake is a white cake with lemon filling and 7 minute frosting. I did royal icing carnations in 3 shades of pink. I don't think I've done carnations since my cake class 15 years ago. I love their look!

Surprise Birthday Cake

My good friend had a birthday recently, and her mother called up and asked if I would do a surprise cake for her. Since I was a few days away from a wedding cake delivery (plus packing to leave on a week-long cruise to the Bahamas), I agreed to do it, but only because it was for Jodi and she deserved more than a supermarket cake.

Jodi is as crazy as I am when it comes to being involved in activities. She is a CPR and First Aid instructor for the Red Cross, diehard Auburn fan, and Girl Scout volunteer (she's a trainer, co-leader with me, co-Service Unit Director with me, Service Unit cookie manager, plus helps out with her older daughter's troop).

She also has the coolest Hello Kitty pink bike you will ever see.

Mickey Mouse Birthday

This was for a one-year-old's birthday party. This is his smash cake:

And this was for the rest of the guests:

Shaped Cakes

I did two shaped birthday cakes for this weekend. A guitar and a Ping golf bag. My photography stinks (I think I had a little too much caffeine to get me through the night, lol). That, and I hate the lighting from those CCF bulbs.

Daisy Birthday

Mischa was nice to me for her birthday this year- I couldn't get her to get anything more detailed or complicated than this. She did agree to the addition of edible glitter for the center of the flowers, though. No girl turns down sparkles.

Ballet Birthday

Liesie is loving ballet right now and chose a ballet cake over Barbie or princesses.

Camp Rock

I don't know if it compares with Joe Jonas, but the birthday girl seemed to like it!
